Eat Local
Welcome to Eat Local Caledon
The Caledon and the Headwaters Region is the ideal place to focus on building a local food system and the Caledon Countryside Alliance (CCA) is increasing its efforts towards this mission via the Eat Local Caledon Program. Eating close to home not only strengthens the local food economy but also tops the list of environmentally sustainable actions. Raising awareness, engaging the public and building capacity to support a local food economy are the primary objectives of this initiative. Read more>>.
September is the 2nd Annual Eat Local Month in Caledon
In 2007 the CCA organized Caledon's first-ever Eat Local Week. In 2008, we did it for a whole month! Now you can participate in Caledon’s 2nd Annual Eat Local Month. Celebrate, support and strengthen Caledon’s local food and farming system. Shop at local farms, u-picks, wineries and farmers’ markets and choose the local option at shops and restaurants.
During Eat Local Month there are a variety of special events taking place including: guest speakers, wine tastings, workshops, local dinner events and the 7-Day Eat Local Challenge. See the full event listing.
