Food Miles Calculators

“Food Miles” or “Food Kilometres” is a measure the distance that food travels from the farm to your plate.

Imported food travels long distances, using a tremendous amount of fossil fuels and creating a tremendous amount of greenhouse gas emissions along the way.

By eating food that is grown closer to home, you are cutting down of thousands of food kilometres and thereby taking “a bite out of climate change”.

Using online “food miles” calculators, you can quantify the approximate transportation distance and greenhouse gas emissions associated with the food you eat.
